It is an honour for the Organising Committee to welcome you to CEPE Conference- Computer Ethics: Philosophical Enquiry - 11th edition, which will be held in Autónoma University, in Lisbon (Portugal), from July 1st-3rd 2013.
CEPE series is an important worldwide forum that debates ICT philosophical issues in society through the lens of information and computer ethics every 24 months, rotating between Europe and the United States. After visiting places like Milwaukee (2011) (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Computer-EthicsPhilosophical-Enquiry-CEPE-2011/182441371768253), Corfu (2009) (http://cepe2009.ionio.gr/), San Diego (2007) (http://cepe2007.sandiego.edu/), or Enschede (2005) (http://www.utwente.nl/gw/wijsb/archive/Archive%20activities/cepe2005/), this premier international conference in computer and information ethics arrives to Lisbon!
During the conference, under the theme Ambiguous Technologies: Philosophical Issues, Practical Solutions, Human Nature, researchers and practitioners from various disciplines (e.g. computer ethics, philosophy, sociology) and milieus (5 continents and over 20 countries- prior conferences) will reflect upon concrete resolutions for unfold ICT positive potentials and minimising their negative impacts.

Legend: ICT has energised profoundly society (“on” button), although generating complex connections (blue line) due to its potential applications (circles, e.g. grid- speckled computing- or triple wave- ICT4D). Therefore, in order to understand ICT ambiguities is essential multiple approaches (glasses) in a continuum process for solutions (faded parts)
All accepted papers will be in the conference proceedings (paper or digital with ISBN registration) during CEPE 2013; however, with extra publication opportunities (see call for papers). Please, bear in mind the conference important dates:
